Tour Name: Bukit Lutut Expedition

 

Duration:             3days2nights ( full board)

 

Day one               Sumbiling Eco village / trek to camp 2 for overnight ( L/D)

2.00 pm meet at Kianggeh Jetty (Bandar Seri Begawan) and take a 45 minutes public boat ride to Bangar. Upon arrival to Bangar, a brief  last minutes shopping to make sure you have enough  battery for your camera, personal drinking water (100 plus), energy bar etc. 


Then proceed by vehicle 20 minutes to Sumbiling Eco village. Tea & Briefing before starting expedition. Start trekking on gentle slope cover with secondary forest to Mutong River.  Our track will involve criss crossing the pristine Mutong River. Be prepare to walk on wet shoes, you will be rewarded with beautiful sight of Mutong River, untouched primary Rainforest( one of the best in Borneo), hundred years old vine, huge tree, occasion Hornbill barking & many others. Some of the plant or insect are yet to be name by scientist! After a nice 2 hours trek we will reach Lutut Camp one. Here we will set up camp for overnight. Time for a evening bath by the Mutong River. After dinner,be entertain by an orchestrate of various frogs, crickets, cicadas and other nortunal insects. If weather permit, we will venture on Mutong River to look for frog& other night creature

Day Two               Bukit Lutut Summit/ Lutut Camp 3 overnight ( B/L/D)

Wake up by the call of Gibbon follow by sweet melody created by our birdie friends. After breakfast, break camp and prepare another day with nature. After fully recharge, we will hike up to Bukit Lutut. As we move further into the thick rainforest,slope will be steeper & steeper, range 15-50 degree angle. On some section of track, you will need to use your hand to pull your body up. Occasionally Gibbon make their distinct call as if  laughing at us. If you bring along a binocular, you might be able to see some birds & Gibbon.  After about 3-4hr uphill trek  we will reach Lutut Camp Two,our lunch station. If we reach early we climb ( 1 hr) straight to the peak of Bukit Lutut to have a  view of Mulu National park, Limbang & Lawas of Malaysia. Back from Peak, stop for lunch before continue down to Mutong junction. Here onward, the journey down become more remote, expedition type where our ranger will cut through the way to make a path. after 1 hour or two we will reach Mutong River. Another hour or two trek on Mutong River will reach Lutut camp 3 for overnight camp.  Free & leisure till time for dinner.Swimming , fishing are activities of the day at campsite. Night activities will be either exploring surrounding jungle for nortunal wildlife like frog.  Along the River normally a lot of creature comes out at night.


Day Three           Trek to Temburong River ( B/L)

As usual, wakeup call by Gibbon. Late break up of camp to maximize our time spend in this pristine rainforest. Trek & swim  along Mutong river to Sumbiling Eco Village. Freshen up and have  lunch before back to civilization.Transfer overland to Bangar and by boat back to Bandar Seri Begawan.

Highly Recommend you hire a porter to carry your staff to fully enjoy your trekking expedition

 

Excludes: Porter for carrying personal back pack( B$45/day max 10 kg or B$110 for whole 3days2nights trip) personal drinking water& Snack along the way.

 

What to expect   :

As an outdoor trip, itinerary and times indicated is subject to change without notice, as trip may be affected by rain, heat, high or low water level in the river. Overnight in camp site  max 4pax per tent, Covered  site will be provided for answer nature call upon request. Meals will be serve with army type ration food such as canned curry chicken, baked bean, corned beef etc with rice. Recommend you bring your own high energy bar e.g mixed fruit bar during trekking Hot water will be available for coffee or Tea.

 

Recommended to wear      : 

Light  longsleeve shirt & pant during trekking, shorts& t shirt during campsite, light trekking shoes with good grip. A favorite cap to cover your head. A face towel for those who sweat a lot

Evening, wear light, easy to dry long pants light cotton long sleeve shirt and a pair of sanders or tong.

 

Recommended to Bring    :

A light rucksack, a water proof bag, ziplock type will do, 2 set of light cotton clothes- longsleeve& long pant,( 1 use during trekking, 1 use for sleeping), a short thouser  for wear in campsite, 2-3 –t-shirt, 2-3 pair of thick sock, few underwear, a sandal to be use in campsite,sun lotion, hat, raincoat( disposable or pocho), camera, binoculars( if you are bird watcher only), Small towel for the walk, Towel + toiletries , Swimsuit , Insect repellent- non aerosol type tiger balm will do. A headlight or flashlight,

Some snacks like energy bar e.g mixed fruit bar, chocolate, sweet and drinks ( 100 plus or any isotonic drink) in case you get hungry and thirsty enroute.

 

IMPORTANT! Please limit your back pack to 5-7 kg, depend on your fitness, if more you might consider hire a porter to carry your stuff. B$110 for a 3days2night trip Max 10kg.

 

Rules of the Rainforest :

Take nothing but photographs, leave nothing but footprints .Bring back nothing but memories 

Please Don’t Bring:  Suitcase, radio or loud sounding devices.
